meet the owner

My name is Goble, and I'm the dreamer behind this little patch of dirt. After standing on the Field of Dreams in Iowa, I knew I wanted to bring a little of that magic home. The Cornlot was born from a simple belief: that a ballfield can be more than grass and dirt. It can be a place where friendships grow, memories are made, and for a little while, the world feels just like it ought to. A place where dreams have room to take root, and the corn might just hold a little magic of its own.

There's still a place here for the impossible, for the unexpected, and for the things we hope might find their way home.

And if you happen to see me looking toward the corn every now and then, don't mind me. I'm still waiting for that special someone to come walking out of those stalks.

Until then, I'll keep the lights on, the bases set, and a place waiting for whoever might need a little magic in their life.

Because around here, we believe that if you build it, they will come.

our dream

We believe a ballfield should belong to everyone.

The Cornlot was built in the spirit of a simple idea: that sometimes, all a person needs is a patch of grass, a ball and a glove, and someone willing to have a catch. No admission. No reservations required to dream. Just a place to come as you are, stay awhile, and remember what it feels like to be a kid again.

Whether you're five or ninety-five, there's a place for you here. Come throw a ball, gather your friends for a pickup game, bring your family, or simply sit back and listen to the wind move through the corn. Leave the worries of the world at the gate for a little while. Around here, there's no hurry, no scoreboard that matters, and no reason to be anything other than yourself.

But our dream reaches beyond the ballfield. We want the Cornlot to be a place where people come together, where birthdays are celebrated, groups gather, and special moments find a home. The Cornlot is part of our own homeplace, and we're grateful to share a little piece of it with others. If you'd like to reserve the field for a party, group gathering, or special event, just reach out ahead of time so we can find a place for you on the calendar.

We also believe there's something special about planting a seed and watching it grow. Through seasonal planting days and hands-on gardening experiences, we hope to teach young people the joys of growing corn, tending a garden, and caring for something with their own two hands. Because some of life's best lessons aren't learned in a classroom. They're learned in the dirt, under an open sky, with a little patience and a willingness to try.

At the end of the day, our dream is a simple one. We want the Cornlot to be a place where strangers become friends, children make memories they'll carry into adulthood, and grown-ups remember the dreams they had before the world got so complicated.

A place where the gate is open, the corn is growing, and there's always room for one more.

And who knows? If we do it right, maybe someday someone will walk through those cornfields and find exactly what they didn't know they were looking for.
